Position Overview
Campaign Fellows will gain hands-on experience working across multiple areas of a competitive New York City political campaign. Fellows will play a key role in the campaign’s grassroots voter outreach efforts while also supporting campaign communications, fundraising, volunteer coordination, and event operations.
Working closely with campaign staff, fellows will help engage voters throughout Assembly District 66, assist with campaign events and fundraising initiatives, contribute to digital and community outreach, and support the day-to-day operations that drive a modern political campaign.
This role is ideal for students interested in politics, public service, advocacy, communications, or campaign management, and offers a well-rounded introduction to how field organizing, fundraising, and campaign strategy come together in a real electoral campaign.
Responsibilities
In-person voter outreach: Conduct door-to-door canvassing and have meaningful conversations with voters throughout Assembly District 66
Voter contact programs: Participate in phone banking and text banking to identify supporters and mobilize voters ahead of the primary
Community engagement: Represent the campaign at neighborhood events, community meetings, and local gatherings to help build relationships with voters and stakeholders
Volunteer engagement: Assist with recruiting, welcoming, and coordinating volunteers for canvasses and campaign activities
Fundraising support: Help with grassroots fundraising efforts, including donor outreach, event preparation, and maintaining fundraising tracking systems
Campaign communications: Support digital outreach and assist with social media content, messaging, and campaign visibility efforts
Event planning and execution: Assist with organizing campaign events, volunteer launches, meet-and-greets, and community gatherings
Campaign operations: Support field logistics, voter data tracking, and other day-to-day campaign activities
Campaign strategy exposure: Participate in campaign meetings and gain insight into the strategy behind a competitive New York City legislative campaign
