The raw clip already had the message. My job was to give that message a clear visual direction. For this Short, I focused on: -Improving the pacing -Adding kinetic typography around the important words -Using supporting visuals to make the idea easier to follow -Creating a clean composition for vertical viewing -Keeping the typography, colors, and motion consistent The goal was not to make every second busy. It was to keep the speaker’s natural delivery while giving the video a more polished and intentional look. Here is the raw clip next to the finished version. A strong before and after is not about changing the person on screen. It is about improving everything around their message. Which change made the biggest difference to you?

Typography isn’t just about choosing the right font—it’s about getting the spacing right. Small adjustments to kerning, tracking and leading can completely change how professional, readable and polished your text appears. In this tutorial, I’ll explain what each of these essential typography controls does, when you should use them, and the common mistakes to avoid. Using Affinity V3, I’ll demonstrate simple, practical examples that show exactly how letter spacing, word spacing and line spacing work together to improve the look of your designs. Whether you’re creating books, posters, social media graphics or YouTube thumbnails, understanding these three fundamentals will help you produce cleaner, more professional typography with confidence. If you’ve ever wondered why some text simply looks “right” while other text feels awkward, this video will give you the knowledge to spot the difference and fix it yourself.

How type moves is such a beautiful and underrated part of motion design. When we partnered with the team at Tines on a recent video project for their Workflow event, we obsessed over this. The result: typography ran as a thread through the whole piece. Purposeful, but also playful. Words became a design element as much as the message, clearly associating the Workflow brand with the Tines main brand while feeling genuinely fresh and distinct from it. Little snippet below...see the full piece and read the story behind it here: https://lnkd.in/eHBBxc_s 📽️

After spending a little more time fine-tuning the composition, this Yoru key art concept is officially wrapped! My goal was to take official studio assets and build a poster that leans heavily into scale and visual aggression. In the final version, I wanted to focus on solving the visual weight and typography integration. 💡 Design Pro Tip: Intentional Negative Space In earlier iterations, the upper-left area felt a bit empty, but rushing to fill it with elements can ruin a poster's composition. Instead of adding more imagery, I embedded large, low-opacity background typography ("YORU"). This fills the space structurally without competing with the main focal point—those high-intensity glowing eyes. 🔥 Branding Pro Tip: Balancing Identity & Art When dealing with dark, atmospheric pieces, stark white logos can break the immersion. By pulling the official game branding into the bottom right and shifting the text color to match the dominant crimson palette, the title acts as a clean anchor that feels completely native to the environment. Knowing when to let a design breathe and how to quietly integrate text is what elevates a standard composite into a cohesive poster. What’s your go-to method for balancing text and high-contrast imagery? #GraphicDesign #PosterDesign #VisualDesign #KeyArt #ValorantArt #Photoshop #CreativeDirection #EntertainmentDesign

Typography is one of those design fundamentals that looks simple on the surface, but the deeper you go, the more you realize how much detail it takes to get it just right. Every time I work on a layout, there's always that one concern: "Is this typography really delivering the feel and clarity I want?" To sharpen my foundation, l've been documenting my notes on font classifications, scaling, and Figma naming conventions. Here's a quick snapshot of my breakdown so far. . . To my fellow designers : What am I missing here? What are your go-to typography rules or cheat codes when building design systems? Drop your thoughts, feedback, or missing pieces in the comments I'd love to learn from your experience! . . . #UIUXDesign #Typography #ProductDesign #DesignSystem #LearningInPublic #UserInterface #DesignProcess
