TL;DR: Some older widgets have been replaced with newer versions that match the Aurora design system. This page lists the deprecated widgets and their replacements so you can migrate existing layouts. For the current supported set, see Add Widget.

Overview

Taskade is upgrading its mobile widgets to deliver a faster, more feature-rich experience on both iOS and Android. The older widget versions are being phased out in favor of new widgets that offer expanded functionality. This article explains what changed, why you may still see both widget options, and how to switch.

Why Are Some Mobile Widgets No Longer Supported?

We are upgrading our mobile widgets to offer you even more features. The legacy widgets were limited in scope and did not support newer capabilities such as inline task completion or workspace-level filtering.

Why Are There Two Widget Options in My App?

You may notice the old widgets as a selectable option when configuring your widgets. We will continue to support them for a short period to ensure your workflow remains uninterrupted. However, we recommend switching to the new widgets at your earliest convenience.

What Improvements Do the New Widgets Have?

The new widgets include all functionalities of the old versions, plus more. The My Task widget, for instance, allows you to mark tasks as complete directly from the widget. Additionally, it provides the ability to filter tasks by workspace and folders.

Key improvements include:

  • Inline task completion — Check off tasks without opening the app.
  • Workspace and folder filters — Focus on the tasks that matter most.
  • Faster loading — Optimized performance for quicker access to your data.
  • Updated design — Consistent look and feel with the latest Taskade mobile app.

How to Switch to the New Widgets

  1. Long-press on your home screen and select Widgets (or Edit Home Screen on iOS).
  2. Search for Taskade in the widget picker.
  3. Add the new Taskade widget to your home screen.
  4. Remove the old widget to avoid confusion.
