The portrayal of the United States in the Polish People's Republic was closely linked to the direction of political change. During a brief period of warming relations between the two governments, coinciding with the years of the Gomułka Thaw and culminating in the visit of then-Vice-President Richard Nixon to Warsaw in August 1959, the domestic visual landscape became particularly saturated with representations of the country across the Atlantic. Undoubtedly one of the most famous artistic events of this period was the photographic exhibition *The Family of Man*, organised by the Museum of Modern Art in New York and presented in the autumn of 1959 at the National Theatre in Warsaw. The illustrated monthly *Ameryka*, published in Poland by the United States Information Agency from 1959 onwards, also served as a platform for this intense presence. However, the visual culture of the Polish People's Republic had already been linked, albeit in a less obvious way, to the American model of visual policy. Stefan Arski, editor-in-chief of the weekly “Świat”, the leading illustrated magazine of the 1950s, which Leopold Tyrmand referred to with sarcasm as a “Polish-Communist imitation of ‘Life’”, spent the war years in the United States working as a journalist. The head of the magazine’s photography department – Jan Kosidowski – had, meanwhile, trained at the New York Institute of Photography. The monthly “Polska” – known in the West as “Poland” – was, meanwhile, a realisation of a magazine model akin to the American press, in which the high artistic qualities of the photography and layout were combined with a propaganda message.

Introducción: El artículo examina la expansión, diversificación y profesionalización de las editoriales universitarias públicas de Córdoba, Santa Fe y Entre Ríos entre 1985 y 2020, entendidas como espacios de producción cultural que operan en tensión con las lógicas comerciales del mercado editorial argentino. Se plantea que estos sellos, situados fuera del centro tradicional, cumplen funciones académicas, institucionales y culturales que inciden en la configuración del espacio editorial nacional. Metodología: El estudio retoma resultados de una investigación más amplia que combinó métodos cualitativos y cuantitativos, incluyendo entrevistas en profundidad, encuestas a equipos editoriales, análisis de catálogos y revisión de documentos institucionales. Este enfoque permitió identificar las condiciones materiales, espaciales y simbólicas que posibilitan la edición literaria en provincias, así como las estrategias que desarrollan las editoriales para intervenir en circuitos culturales y comerciales. Resultados: Los análisis muestran que los sellos universitarios actúan como instituciones compensatorias frente a la concentración geográfica del mercado y las restricciones presupuestarias del sistema universitario. Se evidencia su rol en la creación de repertorios culturales, en la profesionalización del trabajo editorial y en la consolidación de zonas editoriales activas fuera de Buenos Aires. Conclusiones: Las editoriales universitarias provinciales despliegan modos específicos de inserción y posicionamiento que permiten comprender nuevas articulaciones entre universidad, literatura y mercado, aportando a una geografía editorial más diversa dentro del sistema argentino.

The purpose of this article is to establish the genesis of the first Arabic metal typefaces for Christian literature, as well as to analyse the activities of the educator and publisher, Met- ropolitan Athanasius Dabbous; to identify the artistic heritage and influence on the printing in- dustry of the Middle East of such font designers as Anfim Iversky and Abdullah Zaher; to study the transformation of letter forms, ligatures, punctuation and typographical decoration of Ar- abic liturgical books. The research methodolo- gy includes the collection and analysis of print- ed Christian publications from the Middle East, the comparison of different Arabic fonts based on geometric and proportional measurements, the systematisation of scientific sources, the design research into the construction of letters, and the generalisation of the results obtained. Methods of comparative analysis are used, as well as the creation of sketches of two types of Arabic fonts (Bucharest, 1701 and Aleppo, 1706); the systematisation of the results of the comparison based on alphabet tables and the superimposition of letter contours. In spite of the fact that the topic of the similarity of Arabic fonts of the printing hous- es of Wallachia and the Middle East has been addressed by European, Arab and domestic researchers, this article is the first to conduct a qualitative design and typographic analysis of the typefaces of liturgical books; a compre- hensive study of individual letters developed by Anfim Iversky and Abdullah Zaher has been carried out. Conclusions. Based on the analysis of bibliographic sources, collected data, imag- es of graphemes and individual words, an idea is formed about the different origins of Arabic fonts from the printing houses of Snagov/Bu- charest and Aleppo/Beirut. The features of sim- plification and schematisation of letter forms and the interconnection of skills in the Arabic calligraphic tradition with the creation of met- al punches, which influenced the formation of the typographic image of Arabic publications and the development of Eastern Christian visu- al culture, are revealed. A comparative method proves that the previous theory of the similarity of typefaces from Christian publications in Wal- lachia and Syria has certain flaws and needs to be revised and requires more professional de- sign research of all forms of metal letters and the peculiarities of typesetting.

El presente trabajo aborda una reflexión sobre el oficio de la edición universitaria a partir de mi experiencia de formación en la Editorial de la Universidad Nacional de Salta (EUNSa) durante los años 2023-2024. El objetivo es exponer los múltiples procesos, agentes y "gajes" del trabajo editorial como parte de una práctica situada en el ámbito académico, así como también visibilizar este lugar como un espacio de producción y comunicación científica. Para ello, retomo los aportes de Editar: un oficio. Atajos, rodeos, modelos de Carlos Gazzera (Eduvim, 2016), donde se exponen los principales aspectos de esta labor como una práctica atravesada por dimensiones políticas, sociales y culturales, que, a la vez, requiere de una estructura institucional. Por último, en diálogo con el lema de nuestra universidad, "Mi sabiduría viene de esta tierra" de Manuel J. Castilla, propongo comprender a la editorial universitaria como mediadora cultural, puente de comunicación de los saberes académicos en extensión a la comunidad de la región. 

La letteratura italiana fuori d'Italia: ricezione e immaginari è una collana fondata dal team internazionale che dal 2018 porta avanti l'omonimo progetto di ricerca. Essa è destinata, da una parte, ad ospitare miscellanee di relazioni presentate e discusse negli incontri annuali del gruppo, aperti di volta in volta a esperti di tematiche affini o contigue. Dall'altra, la collana accoglierà anche monografie e curatele di esponenti dell'équipe così come di studiose e studiosi di argomenti e tematiche affini a quelli della collana.

Мета дослідження – встановити генезис перших арабських металевих шрифтів для християнської літератури та проаналізувати діяльність просвітника й видавця – митрополита Атанасія Даббаса; з’ясувати мистецьку  спадщину  та  вплив  на  друкарську справу  Близького  Сходу  таких  шрифтових дизайнерів, як Анфім Іверський та Абдалла Захер;  дослідити  трансформацію  форм  літер, лігатур, а також пунктуаційного й типографічного оздоблення арабських літургійних книг. Методологія статті включає збір та аналіз друкованих християнських видань Близького  Сходу,  порівняння  різних  арабських  шрифтів  на  основі  геометричних  та пропорційних вимірювань, систематизацію наукових джерел, дизайнерське дослідження побудови літер та узагальнення отриманих результатів. Використано методи порівняльного  аналізу,  створення  промальовок двох  типів  арабських  шрифтів  (Бухарест, 1701 та Алеппо, 1706), а також систематизацію результатів порівняння на основі таблиць абеток та накладання контурів літер. Наукова  новизна.  Попри  те,  що  до  теми спорідненості арабських шрифтів друкарень Валахії та Близького Сходу зверталися і європейські й арабські, і українські дослідни-ки, у цій статті вперше проведено якісний дизайнерський і типографічний аналіз гарнітур літургійних книг; здійснено комплексне дослідження  окремих  літер,  розроблених Анфімом Іверським та Абдаллою Захером. Висновки. На основі аналізу бібліографічних джерел, зібраних даних, зображень графем та окремих слів було сформовано уявлення про різний генезис форм арабських шрифтів із  друкарень Снагова/Бухареста та Алеппо/Бейрута. Розкрито особливості спрощення і схематизації форм літер та взаємозв’язку навичок в  арабській  каліграфічній  тради-ції зі  створенням металевих пуансонів, що вплинуло  на  формування  типографічного образу арабських видань і на розвиток східної християнської візуальної культури. Методом порівнянням доведено, що попередня теорія  спорідненості  добірок  друкарських шрифтів із  християнських видань Валахії та Сирії має певні вади та потребує перегляду й більш профеійного дизайнерського дослідження всіх форм металевих літер та осо-бливостей набору тексту.

A few days ago, a package arrived from Seattle. Inside were two physical books, sent by V.R. Alenko, a queer romance author I had connected with on Instagram. It was a generous gesture, the kind that reminds you that despite everything the algorithm does to destroy or hinder creative communities, there are still writers out there reaching across distances with something tangible and human.
Holding someone else’s book, a real printed object they made, is not nothing.
It prompted me to think, as I often do, about what it actually means to be a queer author publishing independently in 2026. Not the mechanics of it, not the KDP dashboards and IngramSpark distribution and DistroKid royalties, but the cultural and political weight of the act itself. Because there is weight to it. Considerably more than mainstream publishing discourse tends to acknowledge.

This dissertation cancerns what is known as the report book in Sweden between 1960 and 1980. The study aims to examine the report book as a genre and to deterrnine whether the texts that questioned dominant social structures can also be said to contain elements that work to uphold those structures. Working from the perspective of a sociology of Iiterature, tlris inquiry is strongly influenced by feminist and postcolonial theories and methods. The dissertation includes both a genre study and close readings of three works: Jan Myrda1's Reportfrom a Chinese Village, Sara Lidman's and Odd Uhrbom's Gruva, and Maja Ekelöf's Rapport från en skurhink. The genre analysis is based on a survey of 49 books and analyses both texts and paratexts. The survey demonstrates that a dual ambition characterizes report books: the desire to represent reality in a direct, unmediated fashion and the desire to represent a previously unknown reality-to give others a voice. These aims permeate the ways in which the works are packaged and marketed. The genre, in other words, is not constituted only by narrative techniques, but also to a great extent by the ways in which publishers profile the books. The analysis also shows that the majority of works make use of basically the same frame story, with slight modifications: a joumalist/writer/scientist travels to a non-central place to gather and report fäets, impressions, and voices from and about that place. Metonymical narration and montage are commonly used, but the monologue--often seen as characteristic of the report book-is not the dominant narrative technique employed. The analysis of Report from a Chinese Village demonstrates that an author is able to influence what Edward W. Said refers to as strategic formation, but it also discusses the significance of the author's strategic location for the work and for the image of China that emerges. Report from a Chinese Village helped change the view of China in the West, but it also works in a tradition that underwrites a Western self~understanding in which the West discovers, organizes, explains, and exploits the world around it. The comparison between audio recordings and the final text of Gruva sheds light on the process and method of book production, and shows how the author's overall aims influenced the final product. The analysis of Gruva shows how text and image succeed in formulating a critique af the society af its time, but it also raises the possibility that the work simultaneously tells another, far less critical story. The discussion of Rapport från en skurhink revolves around the fäet that the work was received and read as the long-awaited testimony of the cleaning lady, Maja Ekelöf, and that because of this reception several important aspects of the work were neglected. In short, this dissertation argues that the report book in Sweden <luring the 1960s and 1970s isa highly specific expression of documentary literature characterized by the two main factors Clas Zilliacus has identified: the motto of "giving voice" and the performative signal that "this is reality." Against this background, the dissertation examines what it means to give voice, or to be a voice.

This work provides a comprehensive and detailed inventory of the broadsheets contained in the so-called Dobřenský Collection, a unique set of prints from the second half of the 16th century. The collection was assembled by Václav Dobřenský of Černý Most, a respected burgher of Prague and an official of the Old Town salt office. In a European context, its exceptional nature lies in the fact that it was not compiled retrospectively, as is usual with similar collections, but contemporaneously with the printing of the broadsheets themselves, making it a valuable period source.
The theoretical part outlines the social and political background of the collection's origin, the figure of Václav Dobřenský, and the set's journey to the Premonstratensian library at Strahov. The core of the work is the catalogue itself, in which the broadsheets are arranged in the order established by the 1960s reconstruction. Each record contains a typographical description, the present condition, and contextual information on originators, addressees, and relevant literature. The work concludes with an extensive reference apparatus, including indices of names, printing provenance, illustration themes, and subjects.

Jie nepaprastai įvairūs teminiu, žanriniu, poetiniu, apimties, meninės vertės ir kitais aspektais. The article is based on the theoretical approach suggested by literary imagology, drawing an assumption that the image that is revealed in fiction of one country about the other country, the nation is not a literary value that is solely enclosed inside a text, but it rather often reflects specific historical, geographical, social, economic, cultural and other realia, too. There is a large number of literary pieces which depict the Lithuania-related topic or single Lithuanian motifs in Latvian literature of the first half of the 20th century; therefore, the article limits itself with analysis of only a part of them in the chosen aspect of imagology. Around thirty authors of the said period who wrote pieces of various genres, including both famous names, who became classics and less known authors, are discussed.
Majority of these literary pieces reveal such manifestations of Lithuanianness which can be considered as trite, stereotypical because they are repeated, obtain new semantic, emotional shades in various contexts; nevertheless, they always retain almost the same notional core. The ethnotype of a Lithuanian beggar (Latv. leišu nabags / ubags) is one of the most frequently occurring manifestations of such kind; it reflects a historical, economic situation of the second half of the 19th century – first half of the 20th century, when many people from Lithuania would go begging in Latvia. The fiction also quite frequently and highly variously displays the motif of Lithuanian neighbourhood, its geographical proximity. The motifs of “a Lithuanian cherry” (Latv. leišu ķirsis) and “a Lithuanian goose” (Latv. leišu zoss) are much rarer, though repeating in fiction works related to specific agrarian and culinary realia prevailing in Latvia at that time. An image of a disastrous “quagmire of Lithuania” (Latv. leišu muklājs) that was made popular by a composer Alfrēds Kalniņš’s (1879–1951) song based on a verse by a poet Atis Ķeniņš (1874–1961) ought to be considered as dissociated from objective realia; this image had a metaphorical meaning which was usually directly unrelated to Lithuania.
Manifestations of the topic of Lithuania which are characteristic of some exclusiveness, unusualness, even some kind of cultural exoticism in Latvian literature of that time are relatively sparse. The article analytically presents five pieces of fiction that display quite detailed portraits of atypical, unordinary characters from Lithuania. The most suggestive of them is an image of a Jewish man, named Perec, from Lithuanian province, who was educated under the influence of the religious spirit of the Torah but eventually embraced the truths of Marxism, and his milieu, created by a famous leftist writer Andrejs Kurcijs (the true name Andrejs Kuršinskis, 1884–1959) in his short story “The God of Paupers” (“Nabago dievs”, 1929).

LITERARY WORLDS IN DIGITAL CULTURE: AESTHETIC RESPONSES OF STUDENTS AT THE FACULTY OF HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCES, UNIVERSITY OF ZAGREB This paper examines the reading practices of Generation Z, with a particular focus on their aesthetic responses to literary texts. The theoretical framework is based on Rita Felski's typology of aesthetic responses, which includes recognition, enchantment, knowledge, and shock. The study aims to explore how Felski's typology applies to the "digital natives" generation and how their digital environment shapes or transforms these responses. The research is based on a quantitively-qualitative methodology: the analysis of surveys and semi-structured interviews with students at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb. Translation is considered a strategic site where political and ideological narratives are negotiated, questioned and reconstructed. Particularly in contexts of ideological polarization, translated texts often serve as vehicles for legitimizing specific movements or marginalizing opposing ones. Over the last few decades, it has become clear that translation is not an impartial or objective act; rather it inevitably involves intervention and manipulation, deeply influenced by the ideology of agents such as translators and publishers. Within this framework, the present study identifies Nebioğlu Publishing House as a prominent institutional agent that systematically produced translations to reinforce the anti-communist ideology that became hegemonic during the Cold War. To illustrate the mechanisms of this ideological mediation, the article offers a comparative case study of William C. Bullitt's The Great Globe Itself (1946) and its Turkish translation Asıl Büyük Dünya (1947). The analysis employs the methodological tools of textual reframing pertaining to Mona Baker's narrative theory (2006) and Gérard Genette's paratextual analysis (1997). Moreover, by comparing the source and target texts, the study discusses how the publisher and translator actively intervened to reframe the source narratives. Ultimately, the findings highlight that translations are not merely products of linguistic transfer, but also potent instruments of ideological positioning; both publishers and translators act as active agents who rewrite the source text through specific ideological filters.

This review paper presents a practice-based critical review of the structural vulnerabilities facing independent authors in 2026, with particular attention to the compounding threats of AI-generated content flooding, automated deplatforming, and false-positive AI detection. Drawing on the author’s own experience of deplatforming by Draft2Digital and subsequent coordinated harassment campaigns, the review examines the construction of a multi-layered institutional identity infrastructure as a primary mode of resistance.

The synthesis incorporates recent findings from AI detection research (Covey, 2026), queer AI representation studies (Queer in AI, 2025), FAIR Data Principles frameworks (NIH, 2025), and emerging mandatory AI disclosure standards (JCQ, 2026). The paper argues that persistent identifier infrastructure—comprising Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs), ORCID profiles, and legal deposit mechanisms—constitutes a generative and compounding creative asset rather than a merely defensive posture.

Particular focus is directed toward the asymmetric burden placed on Own Voices and LGBT authors by latent institutional homophobia within platform moderation systems, exploring how institutional anchoring redresses this imbalance. The paper concludes with practical recommendations for independent authors seeking to make their work structurally indestructible within an increasingly adversarial publishing landscape.

This report examines the critical intersection of platform law, algorithmic design, and commercial discrimination within digital publishing aggregators. It argues that the "neutral" architecture of platforms such as Draft2Digital (D2D) facilitates systemic attrition of LGBTQ+ content through biased metadata routing, heteronormative taxonomical structures, and opaque enforcement loops.

Süreli yayınların ortaya çıkışı ve yaygınlaşması, matbaa teknolojisinin toplumsal etkisini çok katmanlı ve daha etkili bir hale getirmiştir. Bu çalışmanın ortaya koyduğu bulgu, matbaa-gazete birlikteliğinin kitap piyasasının inşasında kitap reklamları üzerinden stratejik bir rol oynadığıdır. Matbaalar arzı üretirken, gazete bu arzı görünür kılmış; reklamlar ise kitabı fiyatı, satış noktası, baskı adedi ve maddi özellikleriyle tanımlanan somut bir metaya dönüştürmüştür.

Cieľom publikácie je na príklade Fondu inkunábul Slovenskej národnej knižnice predstaviť podrobnejšiu analýzu jednotlivých exemplárových špecifík týchto tlačí či ich skupín a aplikovať získané poznatky v kontexte výskumu dejín knižnej kultúry na Slovensku. Dôležité je tiež poukázať na spôsob budovania najvzácnejšieho fondu knižnice, ktorý bol ovplyvnený dejinnými udalosťami 50. rokov 20. storočia, ako aj na rozmanitosť tlačí, ktoré sa v ňom nachádzajú. Publikácia sa skladá z viacerých kapitol, v ktorých sa čitateľ dozvie nové poznatky k dejinám knižnej kultúry v Uhorsku prostredníctvom rozboru historických knižníc zachovaných v skúmanom fonde. Prvá dokumentuje výskum v oblasti inkunábulistiky, knižnej maľby a knižnej väzby na Slovensku. Na uvedenie čitateľa do širšieho kontextu je súčasťou stručný prehľad dejín tlačenej knihy v Uhorsku v druhej polovici 15. storočia, zameraný na územie dnešného Slovenska. Ďalej sú predstavené vybrané historické knižnice, ktoré tvoria najväčšiu časť Fondu inkunábul SNK. Ide predovšetkým o kláštorné knižnice,  ktoré sa do fondov SNK dostali po násilnom zrušení kláštorov v 50. rokoch 20. storočia, a o Bibliotéku Matice slovenskej, tvoriacej základ tohto fondu. The publication Cultural Heritage of Incunabula. The Incunabula Collection of the Slovak National Library by Daniela Škulová and Martin Baloga presents one of the most valuable collections held by the Slovak National Library (SNL): its incunabula collection. The primary aim of the monograph is to analyse the specific characteristics of these early printed books and place them within the broader context of book history research in Slovakia. The authors approach incunabula as significant historical sources capable of revealing not only the stories of the books themselves, but also of their creators and former owners.
The publication is divided into two main parts. The first part explores the development of book culture in the Kingdom of Hungary and provides an analytical overview of historical libraries as reflected in the SNL collection

This BA thesis examines the antiquarian bookseller Jacob Albert Sjöblom (1849–1922) and his business in Lund during the late nineteenth century through a microhistorical analysis of surviving archival fragments from his enterprise. The study is primarily based on two handwritten lending catalogues, a purchase ledger from the year 1895, and a selection of books, receipts, and correspondence discovered during the relocation of the antiquarian bookshop from Klostergatan in Lund. The material is analysed using both quantitative and qualitative methods, with the aim of extracting new knowledge about the structure, scope, and social function of Sjöblom’s business.

The analysis demonstrates that Sjöblom operated a multifaceted enterprise that combined antiquarian bookselling, a commercial lending library, the sale of writing materials, and, to some extent, the trade in antiquities. The lending catalogues reveal a substantial lending library primarily used by workers, craftsmen, and young people or students, while academics and members of the bourgeoisie constituted a smaller proportion of borrowers. The 1895 purchase ledger provides detailed insight into the daily operations of the business and shows that Sjöblom acquired books both through regular purchases from private individuals and through book auctions, and that he frequently collaborated with bookbinders.

The study challenges the traditional portrayal of Sjöblom as a poorly organised bookseller and instead highlights his use of sophisticated systems for cataloguing, numbering, and documenting his stock. Furthermore, the thesis demonstrates that commercial lending libraries such as Sjöblom’s played a crucial role in access to literature in late nineteenth-century Lund, particularly for those without access to academic libraries. Overall, the study illustrates how fragmentary source material can yield valuable insights into the local book trade, reading culture, and the circulation of knowledge.

Este artigo aproxima a história das ciências sociais brasileiras das discussões sobre geopolítica do conhecimento ao analisar a formação pós-graduada de sociólogos brasileiros no exterior durante a ditadura militar. Com base em dados de 176 pesquisadores, examinam-se países de destino, financiamentos e temas de pesquisa. Entre 1964 e 1975, os EUA se apresenta como principal destino, com destaque inicial para o apoio contínuo da Fundação Ford seguido, posteriormente, da ascensão francesa após 1975. Embora o Estado tenha buscado maior autonomia científica a partir de 1975, com o fortalecimento da CAPES e do CNPq a partir do I PNPG, a dependência institucional com o exterior persistiu. Entre os temas de pesquisa destacam-se modernização, desenvolvimento e sociologia rural, sugerindo de forma indiciária a aderência a uma sociologia da modernização. Compreende-se o campo sociológico nacional como tensionado entre dependência e autonomia, reforçando a importância de compreender sua formação histórica frente às assimetrias globais.

Nigeria's construction sector, one of the largest in Sub-Saharan Africa, is confronted by a deepening crisis of skilled labour that threatens the nation's ambitious infrastructure development agenda. Rapid urbanization, a growing housing deficit estimated at 22 million units, and a surge in public infrastructure projects have exposed severe shortcomings in the technical capacity of the construction workforce. This article investigates the structural roots of the skills crisis in Nigeria's construction industry, examines the current state of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) as a remedial mechanism, and evaluates pathways for reform. Drawing on empirical research, policy documents, and industry reports, the article argues that systematic reform of Nigeria's TVET sector, including curriculum modernization, increased government funding, private sector engagement, and the professionalization of technical education is both urgent and achievable. The article also highlights the critical and underappreciated role of Building Technology educators in creating a self-sustaining pipeline of competent construction professionals. Recommendations are offered for policymakers, construction industry stakeholders, and educational institutions committed to transforming Nigeria's built environment.

This thesis examines how Welsh children’s and YA publishing can develop sustainable international engagement within a bilingual, small-nation context. As the first comprehensive study of internationalisation strategies in this sector, it investigates conditions enabling Welsh publishers to access global markets.

The research traces the historical development of Welsh- and English-language children’s publishing since the 1970s, situating internationalisation efforts within Wales’s bilingual ecology and cultural policy framework. Drawing on Bourdieu’s field theory and Sapiro’s sociology of translation, supplemented by minor literature theory, the study employs a mixed-methods approach combining quantitative analysis of publishing output and qualitative data from 46 stakeholder interviews. Eight case studies of children’s and YA titles published between 2018 and 2023 examine three internationalisation pathways: import, export, and co-production. Comparative analysis with Catalonia, Ireland, Scotland, and New Zealand contextualises the Welsh experience within broader small-nation publishing models.

Findings demonstrate improvements in the visibility, professionalisation, and cultural value of Welsh children’s literature, supported by public investment from the Books Council of Wales. Individual international successes, notably the multiple translations of Llyfr Glas Nebo (Y Lolfa, 2018), illustrate the sector’s potential. However, international engagement remains uneven and structurally constrained. Key barriers include fragmented institutional coordination insufficiently aligned with publishers’ commercial needs, limited rights management expertise, restricted translation capacity, and inadequate access to global distribution networks.

The thesis contributes theoretically by applying an integrated Bourdieu–Sapiro framework to small-nation children’s publishing. It offers evidence-based recommendations including improved alignment between literature promotion agencies and publisher commercial strategies, enhanced rights management support, expanded translation expertise, and sustained international network development. These findings inform cultural policy debates on strengthening diversity and resilience in bilingual small-nation publishing.

El informe analiza el sistema de editoriales universitarias argentinas mediante un Análisis de Correspondencias Múltiples (ACM) de enfoque bourdiano, para posicionar a Eduvim (UNVM) dentro del campo. Examina 20 editoriales en dimensiones de capital, describe la historia del sector, su crisis presupuestaria actual y propone recomendaciones estratégicas.

A historiografia da arte relativa à capitania das Minas Gerais, desde a década de 1930, aponta a relevância especial dos missais portugueses, editados pela Impressão Régia, como fontes de modelos gravados para os pintores. O presente artigo objetiva reacender esse debate, deslocando-o do tradicional eixo interpretativo iconográfico e formal, ou seja, não enfatiza a análise das apropriações das gravuras portuguesas pelos pintores mineiros. Objetiva, diferentemente, compreender o processo de produção desses modelos em Lisboa tendo em vista as políticas econômicas adotadas em Portugal, na segunda metade do século XVIII, com vistas a favorecer e proteger a incipiente industrialização lusitana, substituindo importações. O enfoque recai sobre o estudo da produção dos livros e suas estampas, as concessões de privilégios de impressão aos lusitanos e a proibição de importação de missais estrangeiros, medidas tomadas desde a década de 1760. This article explores the factor of time in the creative process of producing novels in Australia. Using case studies drawn from four specific novel writing practices, we examine the impact of time as an integral component of novel writing. Examining our narratives of this impact together, we found a shared basis in multi-level durational work present in each creative practice: 1. The emotional experience present in the arc of the writer during the production of a novel; 2. The survival of the novel operating in its necessary production pace despite the 21st century evolution of the industry and discourse; 3. The presence and function of time both within and outside the novel process; and 4. The anxiety around shifting discursive contexts over time that can shape novel production. Considering the complex and varied, yet shared, role of time in the practices of experienced and working novelists, we integrate our collective knowledge as a call for an overdue longitudinal study on Australian novel production.

Hydroponic fodder systems represent a transformative alternative to traditional feed production in livestock farming by producing high-quality, nutrient-dense green fodder in controlled environments. Central to the success of these systems is the optimization of nutrient delivery, which directly influences crop growth performance, feed quality, and ultimately, livestock productivity and health outcomes. This study critically examines approaches to nutrient management in hydroponic fodder systems, focusing on nutrient solution composition, delivery mechanisms, monitoring protocols, and their effects on fodder nutritional profiles and animal performance indicators. Through a combination of literature synthesis, field trials, and controlled experiments, the research investigates how varying nutrient concentrations, delivery timing, and system configurations impact fodder yield, nutrient uptake, and feed conversion ratios in ruminants. Results indicate that precise manipulation of macro-and micronutrient levels, coupled with real-time solution monitoring, significantly enhances fodder growth rates, increases protein content, and improves digestibility coefficients. These improvements in fodder quality are correlated with positive livestock outcomes including enhanced weight gain, increased milk production, and improved overall health metrics. The study also identifies practical challenges such as nutrient imbalance risks, solution contamination, and cost considerations, and proposes evidence-based protocols for efficient nutrient delivery. By integrating technological, agronomic, and animal nutrition perspectives, this research offers a comprehensive framework for optimizing nutrient delivery in hydroponic systems to achieve sustainable and productive livestock feeding strategies. The findings provide actionable guidance for farmers, agronomists, and agricultural engineers seeking to implement or scale hydroponic fodder solutions.

This paper contains an overview of books published in the Netherlands and in Indonesia about Depok's history. Cornelis Chastelein (1657-1714) was born in Amsterdam and after the death of his parents, he left for the Indies as a young man. He quickly made a career in the service of the Dutch East India Company (VOC). In Batavia he developed into an idiosyncratic, visionary and well-respected VOC administrator. Chastelein's mission was to transform the Indies from an exploited territory into a sustainable colony, in which the local population was given more autonomy and local traditions were better respected. He described his ideas on agricultural, social and administrative reforms in a number of intriguing manifestos. Moreover, he actually put those ideas into practice. He acquired lands in the then undeveloped surroundings of Batavia - the Bataviase ommelanden - where he created his life's work: the land of Depok. There he founded an autonomous and self-sufficient agricultural community for his Christian slaves to whom he left the land of Depok as his legacy.

The study examined library use and secondary school students' academic performance in Calabar South Local Government Area of Cross River State Nigeria. The study adopted the descriptive survey research design to determine students' attitude to the use of school library. A sample of the study was made of 552 SS2 students randomly selected from seven public secondary schools in Calabar South Local Government Area during the 2023/2024 academic session. The instruments for data collection were two research instruments which comprised ""Library Use (LUSE) and Achievement Test Question in English Language (ATQEL). The Test item were chosen using table of specification in line with the Government approved syllabus for SS2 Students. Data collection was done by the researcher who randomly administered the instruments on the students selected for the study. All the 552 copies of the instruments distributed were collected back from the subjects immediately after the exercise. The data collected from 552 subjects were analyzed using frequency count, mean value and independent t-test tested at .05 level of significance. The result of the analysis revealed that over 60% of secondary school students in Calabar south do not make effective use of their school library, there is a positive influence of use of school library on the academic performance of the students, there is a significant influence of school library utilization on academic performance of students in Calabar south. Based on the results of the analyses of the data collected for the study, it was concluded that secondary school students in Calabar South Local Government Area use of school library was significantly poor.

This paper examines how fractured language and narrative silence function as ethical strategies for representing displacement and trauma in cross-cultural literature, with reference to Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie's Americanah (2013) and Jhumpa Lahiri's The Namesake (2003). Moving beyond overt depictions of violence, the study focuses on everyday accumulative forms of migrant trauma shaped by racialisation, linguistic alienation, cultural dissonance, and inherited memory. Drawing on trauma theory, postcolonial studies, and memory studies, the paper argues that both novels resist seamless narratives of assimilation and closure by employing linguistic restraint, narrative gaps, fragmentation, and silence. In Americanah, racialised speech, accent politics, and blog fragments reveal the limits of language in articulating migrant experience, while in The Namesake, emotional reticence, delayed revelation, and minimalism foreground silence as a mode of ethical storytelling. Through a comparative reading, the paper demonstrates that silence and linguistic fracture do not signal narrative absence but rather acknowledge the unrepresentability of trauma and resist the commodification of suffering. By privileging partiality and opacity, these texts redefine cross-cultural memory as an ongoing, ethically charged process. The study contributes to contemporary debates on migrant narratives by foregrounding form as a crucial site of moral responsibility in literary representation.

Eduardo Blanco Amor (1897-1979), escritor bilingüe en gallego y español que vivió décadas en Argentina, donde desarrolló la primera parte de su carrera literaria cultivando diversos géneros, es autor de la novela Los miedos (1963). Se observa el proceso de creación y el curso posterior del referido título, con el que Blanco Amor pretendía integrarse en la literatura española como residente ya en su país, donde se estableció de forma definitiva en 1965, y que experimentó diferentes avatares en los cuales influyó en medida importante la condición de autor separado de su espacio nativo. Se abordan las circunstancias relativas a la audaz participación de Blanco Amor con Los miedos en el Premio Nadal de 1961, en el que llegó a quedar finalista, a la accidentada publicación de la obra por parte de la editorial Destino y, por último, a los graves problemas que el volumen padeció con la censura franquista.

A partir do tema “Da tese ao livro: como pesquisas são transformadas em publicações?”, e com o objetivo de compartilhar dicas e fomentar o debate, este novo número propõe uma reflexão sobre a importância do livro acadêmico e das editoras universitárias, abordando também o processo da escrita científica e a questão do antirracismo na academia, entre outros.

Trabajo que trata sobre la Antología de la poesía francesa del escritor, jurista y diplomático colombiano Andrés Holguín (1918-1989), publicada por la editorial madrileña Guadarrama en 1954. Una breve biografía del personaje (apartado 1. o) da paso al análisis de las características de la obra, que cuenta con tres ediciones (apartado 2. o), antes de abordar el estudio de la propia Antología (apartado 3. o), dividido en cuatro secciones bien definidas: a) la opinión sobre el juicio emitido por Holguín de los poetas que traduce; b) un breve análisis del poema traducido; c) cotejo de la traducción con otras del mismo poema; y d) propuesta propia de traducción para cada poema analizado.
