Unser Ziel war und ist es, eine tragfähige Lösung für #HKM zu finden und damit den Standort im Duisburger Süden zu erhalten. Dabei haben wir gestern einen wichtigen Meilenstein erreicht: Die Hüttenwerke Krupp Mannesmann GmbH werden künftig eine 100-prozentige Tochter der Salzgitter AG.   An dieser Stelle möchte ich mich bedanken: vor allem bei den Mitarbeitenden, die den Standort über viele Jahre geprägt und mitgestaltet haben. Ebenso danke ich Salzgitter und Vallourec für die gute Zusammenarbeit in den vergangenen Jahren. Wir wünschen dem Standort auf dem Pfad der grünen Transformation alles Gute sowie Gunnar Groebler und allen Beteiligten viel Erfolg!   Der Verkauf unserer HKM-Anteile ist zugleich ein wesentlicher Baustein der Konzerntransformation. Wir richten die Segmente von thyssenkrupp konsequent wettbewerbs- und kapitalmarktfähig aus. Ziel ist es, starke, eigenverantwortliche Unternehmen zu schaffen, die unter dem Dach der #thyssenkrupp AG als Finanzholding erfolgreich agieren können. Gleichzeitig braucht es verlässliche und wettbewerbsfähige regulatorische Rahmenbedingungen in Deutschland und Europa.   Für uns steht fest: #Stahl hat Zukunft in Europa, und eine resiliente Stahlproduktion in Deutschland ist industriepolitisch unverzichtbar.

The #cement industry is one of the world’s largest sources of CO₂ emissions. 🤯 The challenge? A significant share of these emissions is generated during clinker production itself. That means making cement more #sustainable requires a new approach. That’s why the experts at thyssenkrupp Calvion are rethinking the process. Their innovative oxyfuel #technology uses oxygen instead of ambient air during clinker production, creating a much purer CO₂ stream. This makes carbon capture more efficient and opens the door to its use in other industrial applications. 👏

Major milestone for #sustainable cement! 👏 #Cement production is one of the hardest industries to decarbonize. 🏗️ To tackle this challenge, thyssenkrupp Polysius, thyssenkrupp Calvion and the CI4C consortium of Buzzi/Dyckerhoff, Heidelberg Materials, SCHWENK Deutschland Zement, and Vicat have successfully designed and built a pioneering demonstration plant. The facility was officially inaugurated yesterday in Mergelstetten, Germany. By replacing the ambient air in the kiln with pure #oxygen, the "Pure Oxyfuel" technology enables the capture of nearly 95% of CO₂ emissions. Going forward, thyssenkrupp Calvion will further develop, scale, and commercialize the solution for hard-to-abate industries worldwide. Congratulations to all partners involved for turning a bold vision into industrial reality! 🤝
