Bringing the next generation of our industry together! ⚓🌊 Following today’s Youth Mentorship Programme mid-point session, ASMI held our first informal lunch gathering for young working adults aged 35 and below from our member companies. The idea was simple: to create a space for young people across Singapore’s marine and offshore energy sector to meet, build friendships and expand their networks beyond their own companies. We were also delighted to welcome participants from our current and past Youth Mentorship Programme cohorts, as well as former ASMI youth volunteers. Together, they represent a growing community of young people who can learn from one another, exchange ideas and play an active part in shaping the future of the industry. Our thanks to Seatrium, Strategic Marine, KINGS Marine, Stewart Engineering, REINTJES Group, PT Marcopolo Shipyard / Marco Polo Marine Ltd, Cyan Renewables, Technique Marine Services Pte Ltd, SCHOTTEL, M3 Marine Group Pte Ltd, RINA and the other member companies for supporting and encouraging their young colleagues to join us. This is only the beginning. We have set up a WhatsApp group to help the community stay connected and hope to organise more opportunities for them to meet, learn and collaborate. So if you are aged 35 or below and working in an ASMI member company, we would love to have you as part of this growing community, simply fill up your details here: https://lnkd.in/gqAKiJ_S #ASMI #YoungProfessionals #MarineAndOffshoreEnergy #IndustryCommunity #FutureLeaders #YouthDevelopment #Networking #Singapore

Halfway through, with plenty more to discover! 🌊 Today, participants from the fourth cohort of the ASMI Marine & Offshore Energy Youth Mentorship Programme came together for their mid-point check-in. Since the programme began, we have come a long way in connecting young people with industry mentors and helping them better understand the opportunities within Singapore’s marine and offshore energy sector. Through discussions and sharing with their mentors, participants reflected on three important questions shaping the industry’s future: 🔹 How can the sector better attract the next generation of talent? 🔹 How will sustainability transform the industry? 🔹 Will artificial intelligence be an opportunity or a challenge for the sector? These conversations are especially important as the industry evolves to create good jobs for Singaporeans, develop new capabilities and contribute solutions to the global maritime and energy transition. We were also pleased to welcome NTUC Youth and Youth Corps Singapore, who shared the wider opportunities available for young people to build meaningful connections and contribute through volunteerism. As our participants prepare to enter the workforce, we hope they will continue giving back to the community; just as the many mentors supporting this programme are doing today. Three more sessions remain before the cohort concludes its journey at the annual ASMI Youth Forum in October. We look forward to seeing how their perspectives, confidence and aspirations continue to grow!
