  • Preparedness is built through training, coordination and continuous collaboration.   On 26 June 2026, PaxOcean Singapore hosted a joint emergency response exercise with the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), simulating a lithium battery fire onboard EON, Singapore's first fully electric harbour tug designed and built by PaxOcean.   The exercise brought together SCDF emergency responders and our Company Emergency Response Team (CERT) to strengthen coordination, practise emergency response procedures, and enhance operational readiness in a realistic environment.   At PaxOcean, safety remains at the heart of everything we do. Through regular training and close collaboration with our partners, we continue to strengthen our emergency preparedness and our commitment to providing a safe working environment for our people, partners and clients.   A heartfelt thank you to SCDF and everyone involved for their professionalism, dedication and support in making the exercise a success.   #PaxOcean #SafetyFirst #EmergencyPreparedness #CERT #SCDF #Maritime #Shipyard #OperationalExcellence #WSH

As the maritime industry evolves, shipyards must evolve too. In a recent interview with Singapore Business Review, our Kuok Maritime Group Director and PaxOcean Managing Director & CEO Tan Thai Yong shares how PaxOcean's new 5 Jalan Samulun (5JS) shipyard is strengthening Singapore's position as a trusted hub for complex vessel repairs, LNG-ready capabilities and maritime innovation. As Thai Yong explains, "The broader priority is ensuring Singapore remains a preferred destination for complex and high-value maritime work." From specialised infrastructure for LNG vessel repairs and a technical service agreement with GTT to support membrane-type LNG carriers, to housing iHub5, Kuok Maritime Group's innovation platform, 5JS reflects our commitment to advancing engineering excellence, fostering innovation and delivering value to our customers. Behind every capability is a team of dedicated people whose expertise, collaboration and passion continue to drive our progress and shape the future of maritime. Established last year, the Innovation Hub at 5 Jalan Samulun (iHub5), a Kuok Maritime Group (KMG) initiative, is a collaborative innovation platform dedicated to accelerating the development and adoption of next-generation maritime technologies. By bringing together industry expertise, research capabilities and emerging talent, iHub5 serves as a space where ideas can be transformed into practical solutions for a more digital, sustainable and resilient maritime future. Recently, we welcomed faculty members and students from the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) to iHub5 for an industry learning visit, offering them a first-hand look at how innovation is being translated into real-world applications. The programme introduced students to the work taking place at iHub5 and the PaxOcean Centre of Excellence in Engineering R&D, with discussions on electric vessel design and a virtual tour of the EON, Singapore's first fully electric harbour tug, offering insights into the technologies shaping the next generation of maritime solutions. The visit also reflected a shared commitment between academia and industry to prepare students for the evolving maritime landscape. Beyond technology, discussions explored industry trends, career pathways, capstone projects and future areas for collaboration to help bridge the gap between learning and practice. One of the highlights of the session was hearing from Yixin, an SIT graduate who shared her journey from intern to engineer at PaxOcean. Her experience gave students an authentic perspective on building a career in the maritime industry. Through platforms such as iHub5, KMG remains committed to fostering innovation, nurturing the next generation of maritime professionals and advancing a more sustainable maritime ecosystem. A big thank you to the SIT faculty and students for spending the day with us. We look forward to continuing these conversations and welcoming more young talents into the maritime ecosystem. #iHub5 #PaxOcean #KuokMaritimeGroup #MaritimeInnovation #Engineering #GreenTechnology #FutureOfMaritime #TalentDevelopment #SIT #SingaporeMaritime

  • Nothing brings people together quite like great food, even greater company, and a reason to celebrate! Yesterday, PaxOcean was delighted to host a 4th of July celebration with our valued client, Matson, Inc. and industry partners. From catching up over classic American BBQ and food truck favourites to fun photo shoots, it was a wonderful morning spent celebrating with colleagues, families, partners, and friends. We believe strong partnerships are built not just through the work we do, but through the moments we share. For many of our guests celebrating this milestone 250th US Independence Day away from home, we hope that the food, music and festivities brought a taste of America to Singapore. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us, and to the teams who worked behind the scenes to make this event a success. Happy 4th of July to our friends at Matson! Thank you for celebrating with us, and we look forward to creating many more memorable moments together! #PaxOcean #Matson #FourthOfJuly #Partnership #Maritime #ShipRepair #Collaboration

  • Laughter filled the room, music brought everyone together, and for one special evening at the end of April, PaxOcean Batam celebrated more than just work—we celebrated the people behind it. With the theme “Together Beyond Achievements, Raising Excellence,” PaxOcean Batam’s very first Dinner & Dance brought together employees from across the yard alongside our CEO, COO, management team and Kuok Group colleagues, for a night of appreciation, connection, and unforgettable memories. The evening began with an awards ceremony, recognising individuals and teams whose hard work and dedication continue to shape our journey forward. Adding to the celebration were performances by employees, showcasing their talents, energy, and the strong bonds shared across the PaxOcean Batam family. Over dinner, conversations, laughter, and shared moments reminded us that behind every achievement is a team that grows together. This inaugural Dinner & Dance was more than just a celebration, it reflected our shared commitment to excellence, appreciation for one another, and the spirit that continues to move us forward together. Here’s to many more milestones and celebrations ahead. #PaxOcean #Batamyards #DinnerAndDance #EmployeeAppreciation #CompanyCulture #TeamSpirit #Batam

By Day 3, the exhibition halls are still full of activity, but there’s also a little more room for longer conversations, familiar catch-ups, and the occasional light-hearted moment in between meetings. Our teams from PaxOcean and Pacific Carriers Limited held discussions around partnerships and future opportunities to swapping stories from different corners of the maritime world. Today was a reminder that the industry is ultimately built on relationships as much as it is on business. Some conversations were insightful, some unexpected, and a few simply good fun. Especially the spontaneous reunions and familiar faces spotted throughout the day. There’s something special about the midway point of Posidonia, where the formalities ease slightly and the atmosphere becomes a bit more relaxed. The schedules remain packed, but the moments in between often end up being the most memorable. Great to see the continued presence of Kuok Maritime Group and everyone flying the flag for the maritime community throughout the week. See you on Day 4! #Posidonia2026 #KuokMaritimeGroup #PaxOcean #PCL #POSH #MaritimeIndustry
