Virginia just moved up the leaderboard. CNBC ranked the Commonwealth #3 in its 2026 “America's Top States for Business” report — up from #4 in 2025 — with strong marks in infrastructure and workforce development driving the climb. For companies weighing where to grow, that's backed by real numbers: more than $5 billion in new business investment and 3,000+ new jobs announced across Virginia in just the past six months. Greater Richmond is proud to be part of that story. Read more: https://hubs.ly/Q04rd0Yd0 #VirginiaBusiness #EcDev #GreaterRichmond #TopStatesForBusiness #SiteSelection

Today is National Intern Day, a national holiday started to recognize the value interns bring to the organizations they join. Greater Richmond is well positioned to make the most of it. Our region sits within 150 miles of 1.7 million enrolled students, giving local employers direct access to one of the strongest talent pipelines in the country. That pipeline just got easier to tap. In February, InternshipsVA was launched. The new $14.5 million annual state program helps Virginia employers build paid internship programs. That means small and mid-size Virginia businesses can receive a 50% wage match for undergraduate interns, work with a regional internship manager on program design and recruit at no cost through a new partnership with Handshake. For employers, internships remain one of the highest-return investments a company can make in future talent with over half of interns convert to full-time hires -- and interns who convert report a 76% one-year retention rate. Twelve Greater Richmond companies just made Fortune's 2026 list of the 1000 largest U.S. companies — six of them landing on the elite Fortune 500. That puts our region 8th nationally for Fortune 1000 headquarters and 11th for Fortune 500 headquarters. Combined, these 12 companies generated $180.8 billion in revenue and employ more than 235,000 people worldwide. Numbers like these don't happen by accident. They reflect a business climate, talent pipeline and regional infrastructure built to support long-term corporate growth. #FortuneList #EconDev #RichmondVA #CorporateHQ

Team work makes the dream work for advanced pharma in the Richmond Region! We're proud to support the Alliance for Building Better Medicine and their efforts in our rising cluster.
Today is a milestone worth celebrating 🙌 🙌 🙌 The Alliance for Building Better Medicine (ABBM) is proud to celebrate a transformational investment from U.S. Economic Development Administration that will launch our End-to-End (E2E) Commercialization Project through Virginia’s Advanced Pharmaceutical Manufacturing (APM) Tech Hub. Together with our project partners Civica Rx , Phlow, Occam Systems, our lead-entity CCAM - Commonwealth Center for Advanced Manufacturing AND our coalition of more than 55 public and private partners, we are taking a significant step toward building America’s first fully integrated, end-to-end domestic medicines ecosystem. This investment represents more than a project — it is a milestone on our shared mission since 2020 to strengthening our nation’s pharmaceutical supply chain by connecting innovation-to-commercialization, advanced manufacturing, workforce development, and public-private collaboration into a single, coordinated ecosystem. Together, we will establish a fully integrated domestic supply chain for four critical sterile injectable medicines, helping strengthen our nation’s healthcare resilience while ensuring patients have reliable access to essential U.S.-made therapies. This moment reflects years of collaboration, vision, and persistence from partners across industry, academia, government, workforce, and economic development. Thank you to everyone who helped make this achievement possible. Today belongs to our entire coalition.
