We are seeking a Working Foreman with strong commercial construction and custom fabrication experience to join our team in Albuquerque, NM. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can manage day-to-day field operations, coordinate small commercial projects, and contribute directly to high-quality metalwork, custom carpentry, and architectural fabrication projects.
This role requires a motivated professional who can balance crew management, project coordination, and hands-on craftsmanship while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and schedule performance.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage a crew of 4-5 skilled employees in both field construction and custom fabrication settings.
Oversee commercial tenant improvements, small ground-up construction, and custom fabrication projects.
Perform hands-on work, including metal fabrication, custom carpentry, and installation of architectural elements.
Prepare cost estimates, material takeoffs, and proposals.
Coordinate project schedules and manage subcontractors and vendors.
Collaborate with internal departments, including design, property management, and construction management.
Review plans and specifications; communicate clearly with design teams and project stakeholders.
Maintain a safe and organized job site, ensuring compliance with company and OSHA standards.
Track employee time, materials, and project progress.
Troubleshoot field challenges and develop creative, efficient solutions.
Qualifications
5-10 years of experience in commercial construction or custom fabrication, including management or supervisory experience.
Proven background in metalwork, custom carpentry, or architectural fabrication.
Strong understanding of commercial construction processes, scheduling, and coordination.
Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and shop plans.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Safety-conscious mindset with a working knowledge of OSHA standards.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
Experience with estimating, project management software, and basic computer skills preferred.
