Over ons
CoolSem’s patented wafer-level thermal management technology helps chips run cooler, last longer, and perform beyond today’s limits. While traditional cooling techniques remove heat from the package or system level, the real challenge lies deeper. In the thermal resistance of the chip’s substrate. But the challenge goes deeper than heat itself. As devices cycle through temperature changes, the different materials inside each chip expand and contract at different rates, adding mechanical stress on top of thermal resistance. Over time, this stress degrades interfaces and compounds the very heat problem it’s meant to control. CoolSem removes the substrate, the barrier to efficient heat flow. And we replace it with our patented wafer-level carrier that conducts heat up to 15× better. 15× better thermal pathway, zero layout constraints. Our patented WaLTIS® wafer-level technology reduces thermal resistance by up to 15× and eliminates hotspots that degrade device performance and reliability. At the same time, the architecture remains dielectrically neutral, fully compatible with existing device layouts and electrical isolation schemes. Do you want to know more? 🏆 Recognition is meaningful when it reflects the problem you are solving. Heat is rapidly becoming one of the biggest constraints on next-generation semiconductors. As device performance continues to increase, thermal management is rapidly becoming a critical bottleneck affecting efficiency, reliability, lifetime, and scalability. At CoolSem Technologies, we believe that thermal management must evolve from a supporting function to a core design consideration for next-generation semiconductor and photonic devices. We are proud that the Gerard & Anton Award 2026 recognizes CoolSem Technologies' mission to address this challenge through wafer-level thermal innovation, helping pave the way for cooler, more reliable and more manufacturable semiconductor devices. 👉 Read the full article: https://lnkd.in/e8AyPv3d

Brainport is famous for ASML. What’s less well known is the next generation of semiconductor and photonics companies already emerging here. Our new report shows there’s much more happening. Since 2010, semiconductor companies in Brainport have raised €908 million. Brainport Eindhoven now ranks 5th among 14 European semiconductor regions and has already raised €343 million in 2026. Together, the Netherlands ranks #2 in Europe for semiconductor funding in 2026 YTD. The Dutch ecosystem is also one of the few in Europe where much of the semiconductor value chain comes together: from chip design and photonics to equipment, metrology, packaging and advanced manufacturing, with companies such as ASML, NXP Semiconductors, Philips, SMART Photonics and Axelera AI. The attached PDF highlights some of the key insights. The report was compiled by Matthijs Bulsink (BRAVENTURE) in collaboration with the Gerard & Anton Foundation, based on Dealroom.co data and complemented with ecosystem insights from organizations including PhotonDelta, imec, TNO, Eindhoven University of Technology, High Tech Campus Eindhoven and HighTechXL. On 2 July, during the Gerard & Anton Awards, we’ll go one step further and present The State of the Brainport Deep Tech Startup Ecosystem. For the first time, we’ll combine the Semiconductor, Energy and HealthTech ecosystems into one complete picture. Curious? The full Semiconductor & Photonics report is in the first comment. #Brainport #DeepTech #Semiconductors #Photonics

𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝘂𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝗱𝗲𝗲𝗽-𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝗲𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 🌐 CoolSem Technologies participated in the Hello Tomorrow 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁, joining innovators, investors, corporates, and policymakers from across the international deep-tech community. After meeting with strategic partners, technology leaders, and members of the broader Dutch high-tech ecosystem, one message stood out: 𝗱𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁. Building breakthrough technologies requires far more than a great idea or a strong engineering team. Success depends on an entire ecosystem of universities, research institutes, suppliers, manufacturing partners, customers, investors, and policymakers working together. The Netherlands has built a remarkably strong ecosystem around deep technology, combining expertise in semiconductors, photonics, advanced manufacturing, materials, and high-tech systems within a uniquely concentrated geographic region. A particular highlight of the summit was the Discover Dutch DeepTech pavilion, organized by Techleap, RVO - Netherlands Enterprise Agency, and TNO. By presenting Dutch innovation collectively rather than individually, these initiatives help companies access international opportunities that would be difficult to create alone. At CoolSem Technologies, we are fortunate to be part of a strong and supportive innovation ecosystem. We are grateful for the support, expertise, and collaboration provided by PhotonDelta, PhotonicsNL, Eindhoven University of Technology, Radboud University, and the broader Brainport Eindhoven ecosystem. As global competition in semiconductors, photonics, AI infrastructure, and advanced manufacturing intensifies, one thing becomes increasingly clear: The companies that succeed will not stand alone. They will be supported by the strongest ecosystems. 👉 Read our blog: Cool Technology, Warm Connections https://lnkd.in/etBhXGe6

At CoolSem Technologies, innovation starts with curiosity. We encourage our team to explore new ideas, technologies, and approaches beyond their immediate area of expertise. Last week, Rosalinda (Linda) van Leest attended the 𝗟𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝗪𝗶𝗱𝗲-𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗴𝗮𝗽 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹𝘀 workshop organized by Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft ISE in Freiburg, where she connected with researchers from different disciplines and gained insights into emerging processing techniques. These kinds of learning opportunities are invaluable. Exposure to new materials, manufacturing methods, and scientific perspectives often sparks the ideas that lead to breakthrough engineering solutions. We are pleased to see the inspiration and practical insights Linda brought back to support the ongoing development of our WaLTIS® technology. After all, advancing semiconductor cooling requires not only deep expertise, but also the curiosity to keep learning.
