What happens when higher education, entrepreneurship, and regional partners come together? This story is a great example. Through SEED Innovation Hub, a Longwood University senior gained hands-on startup experience while working alongside the team at the Longwood Small Business Development Center (SBDC). As the driving force behind SEED, the SBDC's strategically located advisors helped him develop a business plan and provided the guidance that turns ideas into viable businesses. It's a powerful reminder that investing in entrepreneurship isn't just about supporting today's businesses—it's about building tomorrow's innovators, strengthening regional partnerships, and growing Virginia's economy. Michigan has never struggled to generate great ideas. Our challenge has been turning more of those ideas into companies that start, scale, and stay here. After spending years working alongside founders, I've learned that successful startup ecosystems aren't built by one organization, one program, or the combo of even several. They grow when universities, investors, corporations, public partners, and entrepreneurs all work together. This MITechNews.com article captures an important conversation through the Innovation Alliance | Michigan. If we're serious about growing Michigan's economy, we need to keep investing in high-tech entrepreneurship. Not because it's the latest trend in econdev, but because it's one of the strongest drivers of long-term, diverse economic growth, and good-paying jobs. The question isn't whether Michigan has the talent or the ideas. We do..... Obviously. The question is how we make it easier for founders to build their companies here. That means strengthening the connections between the incredible assets and programs we already have, expanding access to capital and customers, and making our ecosystem easier to navigate. That's the work ahead for our team and it's work worth doubling down on. More here: https://lnkd.in/eJecEsdH Michigan Economic Development Corporation

Four days into European Innovation Academy one thing is already clear: startups are built by pressure-testing your assumptions every single day 🌐 The best conversations so far have not been about polishing ideas. They have been about challenging them. Founders, mentors, and entrepreneurs from all over the world have pushed us to sharpen what FlowSight is really here to solve: giving teams clearer visibility into how work actually flows, spotting blockers earlier, and making faster, better decisions with less noise. That is the point. Not more reporting. Not more guesswork. Just a clearer view of the work behind the work. Still a long way to go. Still learning. Still iterating our product with real people. And that is exactly how it should be 🧩 #FlowSight #EuropeanInnovationAcademy #EIA #StartupJourney #CustomerDiscovery #Innovation #Entrepreneurship #BuildInPublic

Design Thinking Board Challenge 🚀 As part of the Entrepreneurship and Start-up course, students participated in an interactive Design Thinking Board Challenge. Five students represented the five stages of the Design Thinking process by collaboratively explaining: ✅ Empathize ✅ Define ✅ Ideate ✅ Prototype ✅ Test This simple classroom activity encouraged teamwork, creative thinking, problem-solving and a user-centric approach to innovation. Instead of just learning the concepts, students experienced the Design Thinking process through active participation. Entrepreneurship begins with understanding people, identifying real problems, and developing meaningful solutions. #EEEKIOT #DesignThinking #Entrepreneurship #Startup #Innovation #ExperientialLearning #AmberzAssociation
