Aegiq develops photonic quantum computers based on their proprietary deterministic photon generation and ultra-low-loss photonic circuits. Aegiq is fabless and seeks partnerships in manufacturing, national Laboratories and academia to accelerate deployment of on-premise fault-tolerant photonic quantum computers. Drawing on over 20 years of research from the University of Sheffield and the National Epitaxy Facility, Aegiq’s systems offer significant benefits: Fast: photonics provides fast runtimes, and Aegiq QGATE architecture solves the compilation bottleneck that can otherwise negate the benefit of quantum hardware.  Deployable: designed for standard HPC deployment, there is no requirement for specialised infrastructure or dilution fridges.  Scalable: 10,000x fewer components and millions fewer detectors shrink deployments from stadium-scale to rack scale, on-premises.    The result is a quantum computer, networked via standard telecom fibre, that integrates with existing data centre infrastructure and does not require a physics lab to operate.     Their first-generation system is deployed at the UK National Quantum Computing Centre (NQCC) and current R&D spans quantum dots, advanced photonic ICs, scalable control systems, and an HPC-compatible software stack.     Aegiq’s “Quantum-Ready” tensor network algorithms deliver immediate benefit for complex simulation use cases on current GPUs, while mapping directly to fault tolerant quantum computers for a seamless transition in the future. Alongside Germany, France, Japan and New Zealand, Taiwan is one of the UK's partners in the Digital Trade Corridors Programme! Through this pilot, digital trade solutions are being tested in real-world trading environments, demonstrating how digitalisation can reduce paperwork, streamline cross-border processes, and make international trade easier and more efficient. The results show that many trade processes can already be completed digitally, accelerating export clearance and shipment processing while reducing administrative burdens, paper consumption and the associated carbon emissions.
