#EmailMarketing : Is it still #relevant in the age of Spam? In a world where our inboxes are flooded with an avalanche of promotional emails and newsletters, it’s natural to wonder if anyone’s even paying attention anymore. With spam filters becoming more sophisticated and attention spans shrinking, I don’t know if people read anymore. But here’s the kicker – email marketing isn’t going anywhere. In fact, when done right, it’s one of the most powerful tools in your marketing toolkit. Why? Because unlike social media posts that disappear in the blink of an eye, email offers a direct line of communication to your audience’s inbox. Why do Email Marketing? 1. #Personalisation: With the right data and segmentation strategies, you can deliver highly personalized messages tailored to each subscriber’s interests and preferences. 2. Trackable #Metrics: From open rates to click-through rates, email marketing provides actionable insights that allow you to measure the success of your campaigns and make data-driven decisions. 3. #Cost-Effectiveness: Compared to traditional advertising channels, email marketing offers an impressive return on investment, making it accessible to businesses of all sizes. 4. #Automation: With automation tools, you can streamline your email marketing efforts, saving time and resources while delivering timely, relevant content to your audience. But how to beat the #Spam 1. Focus on #Quality: Instead of bombarding your subscribers with generic sales pitches, focus on delivering #valuable content that addresses their pain points and solves their problems. 2. #Segmentation is Key: Segment your email list based on factors like demographics, behavior, and interests to ensure your messages are relevant and targeted. 3. #Optimize for Mobile: With the majority of emails being opened on mobile devices, it’s crucial to design your emails with mobile users in mind. 4. #Respect Your Subscribers: Always provide an easy way for subscribers to opt out of your emails, and honor their preferences to build trust and credibility. What do you think about Email Marketing? 💪📧 #EmailMarketing #DigitalMarketing #AudienceEngagement Image credits : business.com

Delete. Unsubscribe. Mark as spam. These are the reactions many assume email marketing elicits. Yet, while social media grabs headlines, email quietly outperforms, driving $36 for every $1 spent. It's the digital marketing channel that refuses to die – and for good reason. Many marketers overlook it, chasing the latest social media trends, but savvy businesses know its power. Here's why email marketing remains a cornerstone of effective digital communication: → Direct access to your audience: Unlike social platforms, your email list is yours. No algorithm changes can cut you off from your subscribers. → Personalization at scale: Modern email tools let you tailor content to individual preferences, increasing engagement and conversion rates. → Cost-effective: Compared to paid ads, email marketing often delivers a higher ROI. Some studies show returns as high as 4200%. → Measurable results: Open rates, click-through rates, and conversions are easily tracked, allowing for continuous optimization. → Builds long-term relationships: Regular, valuable emails keep your brand top-of-mind and foster customer loyalty. → Versatile content options: From newsletters to promotional offers, emails can serve various marketing goals. → Mobile-friendly: With most emails now read on smartphones, it's a perfect channel for reaching on-the-go consumers. Despite claims of its demise, email usage continues to grow. In fact, many Gen Z consumers prefer email for brand communications over social media messages. The key? Providing value, not spam. Businesses that master the art of helpful, engaging emails will continue to reap the benefits of this powerful marketing channel.

Most nonprofit organizations default to social media for growth. More reach means more donors, right? Not always. Let’s break it down with numbers. ROI (Return on Investment) Email marketing: $36 for every $1 spent (Data: DMA) Social media ads: $2.50–$5 per $1 spent (Data: HubSpot) Email wins. Less spend, more conversions. Donor Retention Email campaigns: 45% retention rate (Bloomerang) Social media donors: 4% retention rate (M+R Benchmarks) Email wins. You don’t own your social followers. Platforms do. Scalability Email lists: Grow predictably but require nurturing Social media: Explosive reach but volatile (algorithm shifts) Social wins for awareness. Email wins for conversions. How to Use Both (Smartly) Capture leads on social. Turn engagement into email subscribers. Nurture via email. Donors need consistent, direct messaging. Test and track. Measure click-through rates, not just likes. If your fundraising strategy relies only on social, you’re building a house on rented land. Own your audience. Email wins for retention and ROI. Social wins for reach. Smart campaigns use both. Agree? Disagree? Drop your thoughts below. With purpose and impact, Mario

Boring emails are dead. I help Shopify+Klaviyo brands make more money with thumb-stopping content.

Email marketing is NOT DEAD. Just because people don’t talk about it like they talk about TikTok and Meta, it doesn’t mean it isn’t an effective channel. How many emails are sent per day? Over 300 billion. If email marketing wasn’t effective, you wouldn’t see so many emails sent. Why is email so great? Because it’s OWNED MEDIA. It’s your list, and as long as your respect your audience, nobody can take that from you. It’s not subject to the whims of the TikTok algorithm, or a random Meta outage. Take this for instance; if you were to build a new home, would you want to build on leased land subject to your landlord's whims? Or would you rather build on your own land? Obviously, the latter is the answer. This principle holds for your brand, product or service. Your focus should be on developing a channel you own, not lease. And remember, just because something is the talk of the town, doesn't make it superior.

Newsletter growth for the largest personal brands and founders in the world.

My friends have used LinkedIn and X to add 100,000+ newsletter subscribers. Here are the 3 content formats they post consistently: 1. Lead magnets The highest-leverage move you can make. Why? Because a single viral post can do double duty: it drives new followers and captures emails when the only way to claim the asset is by opting in. The 4 formats that consistently work: a) Curation Aggregate the resources people want but don’t want to hunt down. Example: my swipe file of 20 newsletter media kits that have sold $50M+ in ads got 1,300+ comments. b) Breakdowns Show thought leadership by unpacking how something works. I once reverse-engineered 1440’s ad account. That’s been viewed by dozens of 7-figure newsletter founders. c) Prompts Pair proof with process. Daniel Bustamante (CMO at Premium Ghostwriting Academy) shared how they built a $5M+ funnel, then gave away the exact AI prompts they used to draft their sales emails. The promise alone isn’t enough. You need the proof that it worked. d) Artifacts Give away the raw internal docs you already use. The less polished, the better. Austin Rief shared his EA onboarding SOP. Jesse Pujji gave away the 14-slide deck that scaled his agency Ampush to $30M. Both went viral and drove thousands of subs. 2. Borrow other people’s audiences (BOPA) Best when you already have a network or reputation. You won’t add thousands of subs at once, but the ones you get are hyper-qualified. Ways to do it: a) Newsletter swaps Daniel Bustamante and Bryan Harris swapped lead magnets. Each gave readers a compelling reason to subscribe (“here’s a resource”) instead of just “sign up.” b) Guest posts Before he built CopyMBA, Mason Doerr ghostwrote under a pseudonym inside Chase Dimond’s agency newsletter. That exposure gave him credibility and early list growth. c) Reviews/features Brad Wolverton (ex-Hustle) featured my newsletter in Newsletter Examples. Only ~400 subs came in, but many were 8–9 figure media operators. d) Partnership webinars I’ve done these with beehiiv. I’ll present a full teardown (like how we helped a client generate $250K from a 15K list), then drop a lead magnet at the end: “Want the exact emails? Opt in here.” 3. Dream 100 outreach Perfect for B2B or high-ticket offers where every subscriber could be worth thousands. How I run it: a) Build a list in LinkedIn Sales Navigator (owners, CXOs, senior operators). b) Reach out with value first: “I run a private newsletter for media operators. Executives at 1440, Dotdash, and Red Ventures already read it. Mind if I add you?” c) Hand-pick relentlessly. My first 1,500 subs came this way. Small, but exactly the right people. It works because very few do it. Feels like direct mail in a digital age!

𝐈𝐬 𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐢𝐥 𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐞𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐰𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐭? This is one of the most common questions I get from clients and potential clients. 🤔 The answer is a resounding yes! Email marketing continues to offer an impressive ROI, with some sources citing a return of $44 for every dollar spent. In my experience, email campaigns generate 5%-25% of monthly eCommerce revenue, depending on the industry. What's your percentage of revenue from email campaigns? 💸📈 To achieve this remarkable ROI, personalization is key. Consumers need to feel that the email was crafted just for them. When was the last time you engaged with an email that felt personalized? Share those emails in the comments—I’d love to check them out! 📧✨ Modern email marketing solutions have made personalization incredibly easy. You can segment your audience based on various criteria and trigger specific emails to each segment. Here are a few segmentation suggestions: 1. 𝐍𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐎𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬: Identify your zero customers and VIPs. 2. 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧-𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐝: Make emails more relatable by referencing local events. 3. 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝐏𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐝: Do they buy across categories? 📊 What about your email automation strategy? Many brands lack even simple automation flows. What percentage of your revenue comes from these flows? 🚀 Lastly, remember to design emails for mobile. Many CRM professionals design on desktops, but most consumers read emails on their phones. Always design with mobile in mind. 📱 What strategies have you found most effective in your email campaigns? Share your insights below! #EmerceConsulting #EmailMarketing #Ecommerce #DigitalMarketing #ROI #Personalization #EmailAutomation #MobileFirst

Invest where your audience really is: their inbox. Here's why email marketing still reigns supreme. 💌 Social media platforms are powerful, but they don’t belong entirely (or even mostly) under your control. Algorithms shift, platforms rise and fall (hello, TikTok?), and one sudden change can leave you scrambling. Your email list, though? That’s yours. Every email address represents someone who chose YOU. They handed over their inbox—a space they guard fiercely. That’s not just access; that’s trust. But with trust, there’s responsibility. -> Respect their time.  -> Offer value, not noise.  -> Build relationships, not just campaigns. Email marketing isn’t flashy, but its value is timeless. Social media may grab attention, but email builds connections that last. Social media is still essential, but don’t let your strategy rely on rented land. Focus on growing and nurturing an audience you truly own. How are you treating your inbox audience? Are you making their trust worth every click?

If you lost your page today, what would happen to your audience? ❓Your followers? ❓Your warm leads? ❓ Your potential clients? For many founders, the honest answer is: they would disappear. This is exactly why a lead magnet is not just a “freebie.” It is a business asset that actually helps you own your audience ................. The Most Underrated Benefit of a Lead Magnet Is Owning Your Audience! Picking up from yesterday’s post about using your lead magnet as a litmus test to see whether you are attracting the right people, today we talk about what happens after you attract them. Because visibility is great, but ownership is better. 🌸 1. A lead magnet protects you from platform dependency Social media is borrowed land. Algorithms shift. Accounts get suspended. Engagement drops. Glitches happen. When you rely only on followers, you are building on sand. A strong lead magnet moves your audience from borrowed land to owned land: your email list, your CRM, your ecosystem. If your page disappeared tomorrow, you would still have: ✔ warm leads ✔ buyer-ready prospects ✔ a direct communication channel 🌸 2. It turns random followers into intentional audiences Not everyone who follows you is a potential client. But everyone who downloads your lead magnet is signaling real interest. “I want to stay connected.” “Your solution matters to me.” This is how strangers become your community, people you can nurture and eventually convert. 🌸 3. You get a direct line of communication Social media decides who sees your content. Your email list? You decide. A lead magnet gives you the power to: ✔ send valuable content ✔ build trust intentionally ✔ share updates and offers ✔ stay top of mind Your marketing becomes intentional, not accidental. 🌸 4. It warms your audience faster than social media People scroll past posts, but a download moves them into a curated experience that: • builds authority • deepens trust • moves them closer to buying Even if they do not buy today, they stay in your world — not the algorithm’s world. This is how brands create long-term, predictable growth. 🌸 5. It gives you real, meaningful data Likes tell you something. Downloads tell you everything. They show you: ✔ what resonates ✔ who your warm audience is ✔ which problems they urgently want solved ✔ where your marketing should go next When you own your audience, you also own your insights. That is how you market smarter, not louder. Why this matters for founders, coaches and consultants A lead magnet is not just for attracting leads. It is your insurance, your foundation, your direct pipeline, and your owned community. It ensures that even if platforms change, your business does not collapse with them. This is how founders build stability, not just visibility. Tomorrow in Day 3 We will break down how to create an irresistible lead magnet and the key components that make it convert. Stay tuned Wambui Kuria P.S Do you own your audience?

In the digital age, email marketing isn't just an option; it's the linchpin that could pivot your business from obscurity to market dominance. In the labyrinth of digital marketing strategies, where every path promises treasure, email marketing remains the true north. Miles Beckler, in his eye-opening eBook Email Marketing Secrets, illustrates not just the how but the why behind email marketing’s unmatched power. 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞'𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐲 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐛𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐥 𝐩𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐢𝐥 𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠: 👉🏼 𝐎𝐰𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩: Unlike social media followers, you own your email list. No algorithm change or platform update can take those leads away from you. 👉🏼 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬: Email is personal. It allows you to land directly in a customer's inbox, creating a one-on-one conversation that social media can't replicate. 👉🏼 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐑𝐎𝐈: According to DMA, for every $1 spent, email marketing generates $42 in return. It's not just effective; it's efficient. 👉🏼 𝐀𝐮𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Set up once, benefit forever. Welcome emails, follow-ups, seasonal offers—all can be automated, saving you time while engaging your audience at the perfect moment. 👉🏼 𝐒𝐞𝐠𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Tailor your messages based on customer behaviour and preferences. This customization makes your audience feel understood, boosting engagement and conversions. Let me share a quick story to bring this home. A small bookshop owner was struggling to increase foot traffic. She started a monthly newsletter featuring new arrivals and staff picks, coupled with exclusive discounts for subscribers. Within six months, not only did her repeat customers increase, but she also saw a 30% uptick in new visits. Email brought her shop into people’s lives, not just their shopping routes. ✔️ 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐲: Start building your list today. Even a simple "subscribe for updates" on your website can open new doors. And for those who already have a list—mail them! They subscribed because they want to hear from you. Don’t let that priceless interest fade away. If this sparked ideas, or you know someone pondering the leap into email marketing, why not share this post? Better yet, follow for more insights that turn digital noise into symphonies of engagement. Let’s make the digital space less daunting and more rewarding. #EmailMarketing #Marketing #Branding #DigitalMarketing

I took two weeks offline from posting on social media. And I still received client enquiries. Not because I scheduled content. Not because someone else was answering my DMs. Because my emails were still being sent. A lot of founders feel like if they’re not visible every day, everything slows down. So they keep posting, replying, and trying to stay present constantly. But while I was offline, people were downloading my lead magnet, receiving my welcome sequence, clicking through emails, and moving through the journey I’d already set up months ago. And these aren’t generic “welcome to my email list” emails. They’re emails that: → speak directly to what they’re struggling with right now → unpack what’s actually causing that challenge → show how I’ve helped someone else through it → help them picture what solving that problem could look like for them Email allows you to personalise what someone receives in a way you simply can’t with social posts. Someone joins your list and receives the next email automatically. If they click a link, they can receive a relevant follow up. If they don’t take action, they receive a different message. Instead of one mass message going to everyone, email lets you send the most relevant message based on what someone actually does. And it doesn’t stop at the welcome sequence. You can also build: → application follow-ups → sales page abandonment flows → post-purchase upsells → re engagement emails Emails that continue the conversation based on what someone has done, not just whatever you happen to post that day. That’s how I still received enquiries while I wasn’t posting at all. And it’s exactly what I help my clients build. → Identify the gaps where potential clients drop off → Create strategic sequences that guide people towards working with you → Build automations that keep those conversations running in the background So your email marketing keeps working, even when you’re not online. If you want your email list to bring in enquiries while you’re offline, send me a DM, and I’ll show you what that could look like for your business.
