The design and optimization of a Z-type Tank wagon for efficient railway freight operations are presented in this study, focusing on the conceptual 3D design and structural optimization. The development methodology is based on international dimensional and safety standards, such as EN 15273 (loading gauges) and EN 12663-2 (impact resistance), to support universal interoperability. To maximize operational efficiency, the tank's internal discharge slope was critically evaluated and increased to 5.58° through a V-shaped configuration. This geometric modification has been developed to achieve a dramatic increase in gravity unloading speeds over the 1° to 2° slopes typically used in the industry. In addition, the original design of chassis was modified to accomplish targeted mass reduction. The heavy buffer connection sections were split up and a hollow central rod structure was adopted, moving the assembly from three parts to five. The entire steel structure including a 9800 mm long tank body, a 12514 mm chassis and standardized Y25 bogies shows how the theoretical requirements for railway operations are brought into a detailed functional model. This study successfully provides a 3D framework that is geometrically optimized and compliant with the standards.

This study extends the work of Oprea et al. (2024) at Bucharest Henri Coandă International Airport. Using Rockwell ARENA at a 1:5 scale, we tested two scenarios across 100 replications-one with 95% online check-in, another dropping it to 70%. Lower adoption pushed waiting times up 11-18% and queues by 15-22%. Security remained at the busiest stage in both cases, exceeding 89% utilization. Findings align with the original study.

The study comprises a multidimensional comparative analysis of the number of passengers transported by rail in twelve European countries between 2019-2021; the considered data were grouped and analyzed. The dynamics indices with a constant base were used in the study. The aim of the article was a comparative analysis of the number of passengers transported by rail in the European countries under consideration between 2019-2021. The result of the research is the observation of an increase in the number of passengers transported by rail in twelve European countries in 2021 compared to 2020 by 374 965 people. It was visible in nine out of the twelve countries considered. The largest one was observed in France, with around 170 544 passengers. Considering the percentage increase between 2020 and 2021 in respective countries in rail passenger transport, it was observed that the most significant increase was in Italy, which amounted to 25,61%.

This study examines the impact of carbon tax and its alternative, energy tax, on both the Malaysian economy and the transport sector, using a CGE (Computable General Equilibrium) framework. In order to achieve government revenue neutrality, two schemes for revenue recycling, namely lump-sum transfer and labour tax recycling, are employed. The simulation's results show that the carbon tax policy is more effective than the energy tax policy in reducing carbon emissions; because it is less expensive. The negative impact of the carbon tax, on real GDP (Gross Domestic Product) and investment, is less than the energy tax in both recycling schemes. Through lump-sum transfer, both taxes lead to an increase in the consumption and welfare of households, because the tax interaction effect is less than the tax recycling effect; however, through labour tax recycling, they decrease the consumption and welfare of all household groups. These tax policies are not beneficial for the transportation sector, because they lead to decreases in domestic output, domestic demand, exports and imports of all transport sectors. The climate change policies would lead to mitigation of rebound effect in whole of the economy and the transport sector.

Originality. The author determined the general trends in the development of passenger railway transportation in the US and Ukraine. Practical value. The resulted methods of organizing the operation of the US railway passenger transportation complex can be adapted to solve problems in the development of passenger transportation on the Ukrainian railways.

The article deals with the social and ecological, partnership and internal effectiveness of logistical centres which ensure railway logistic services, too. The logistical centre optimises the modal split by a decreased exploitation of road transport. It has a lot of positive impacts on environment, mainly climate change, air pollution and accidents, but also congestion and noise. The principle of partnership in logistical networks is the attainment of benefits and the coordination of interconnected processes, allocation of economic advantages but it is also concerned about disadvantages. Internal effectiveness allows for advantages and disadvantages inside logistical centres. It concerns mainly the optimisation of costs. There are described risks of transport and logistics in the Slovak Republic and possibilities to participate in European logistical centres.

This study deals with the use (and misuse) of music in modern Greek public transport, particularly in the long-distance buses, commonly known as KTEL (from their acronym). In short, Greek drivers seem to impose their own repertoire, often loudly, through speakers on passengers, who are not able (or willing) to react efficiently. This happens despite official restrictions by the Ministry of Transport on the public use of music both for drivers and passengers. This phenomenon, allied with other incidents of inappropriate treatment of passengers, has been seen by the latter as a display of power or a sign of indifference. It is also connected with other (occasional) violations by some drivers, such as smoking and talking on mobile phone (both prohibited by the law). Furthermore, the use of music is placed in the broader context of musical entertainment in modern-Greek daily life. The railway is one of the most popular means of a mass transportation system. The proposed approach has a universal character and can be applied by city and authorities to design a strategic plan of urban transportation systems to solve an advanced transportation problem. This study is focused to design a new railway network between two big cities in Malaysia which are Kuala Lumpur and Kuantan. The Simulation model applied for planning a new railway design and analysis are the important factors. The overall objective of this approach is to increase the passenger service and public transportation system benefit, as well as to make available other transportation categories between these cities. In addition, the model will choose the best railway network that can get more passengers among the urbanization between these two cities.

A set of key sufficiency-related indicators have been selected to be included in the dashboard, while various interrelated infrastructural, economic, environmental, social or legal factors or drivers have been identified and mapped. This paves the way for strengthening assumptions through the elaboration of "sufficiency corridors" defining a convergent, acceptable and sustainable level of energy services in Europe. The process will eventually inform the potential for sufficiency policies through a better identification of leverages, impacts and co-benefits.

Flight delays do not only affect passenger satisfaction but also carry along costly consequences to airlines. The overall objective of the study was to assess aircraft timeliness variations by major airlines so as to determine passenger travel practice in Uganda. The study hypotheses were tested using a two-way ANOVA F-test and further measures of associations. The study found out that the number of schedules of each airline per day had a positive effect on the delay duration, whereby an additional schedule increased the average delay by a proportion of 11%. Whereas the day of the week F(16, 1129) = 1.36, p >0.01 had no significant difference in the delays amongst the airlines, the month of the year F(33, 1107) = 1.88, p < 0.001 showed a significant difference. However, the total variance of the delays was attributed to the airline (29%). It was also demonstrated from the analysis that Eagle Air (EA), Kenya Airways (KA) and South African Airways (SAA) experienced more delays than the British Airways (BAW) by 33%, 62% and 55% respectively. Other than Wednesday, flights were delayed more on all the days of the week and less delayed in the months of October and November than in June by 26% and 3% respectively. On Saturdays and Sundays, flights were found to have longer periods of delay (p<0.05) that averaged 14 and 13 minutes respectively. The flights in January and March had longer delays (15 and 14 minutes) than that recorded in the other months. Therefore, it can be concluded that the passengers who use BAW are less likely to delay than the other (EA, KA and SAA) airlines and travelling in the months of October and November is highly recommended. Given that airline delay is positively correlated with the number of scheduled flights, a policy framework could be developed to optimise schedules and airline delays during departure at the airport.
